On a scale of “Strongly Agree” (5) to “Strongly Disagree,” (1) rank your position on the following statements:

Vaccines are safe: 5
Vaccines are effective at preventing disease: 5
Keeping children safe is a shared responsibility: 5

What is your position on West Virginia’s current school vaccine requirements (which allow only medical exemptions)?

What medical exemptions are there and WHY?

In your view, what role should the state play in ensuring access to vaccines—especially in rural or underserved communities?

Vaccines MUST BE FREE AND ENCOURAGED IF NOT MANDATORY

Which of the following best reflects your understanding?

Vaccines primarily protect the individual receiving them
Vaccines help protect both individuals and the broader community
Vaccination is largely a personal decision with limited community impact
Vaccination is a personal decision regardless of community impact

My grandfather.doef.in 1918 flu epidemic. I have STRONG PRO VACCINE VIEWS AND HAVE PhD History of Science with strong background history of medicine with Jenner and Salk.

If a preventable disease outbreak (such as measles) occurred in your district, what actions—if any—would you take as a policymaker (e.g., make a statement regarding safety, coordinate with public health officials, take policy actions, encourage vaccination, etc.

All of the above and speak with my knowledge of medicine on vaccines and their true effectiveness, not mere emotion.

Is there anything else you would like West Virginia voters to know about your approach to public health, community wellbeing, and/or vaccines?

I grew up in rural area with family doctor 5 miles away and best think.that ever happened was WVU Med School opening when I was 5 years old. A community is only as strong as it's health and the closing of our rural county hospitals and local doctors offices does not bode well. We need EMTs, Local physicians and am ambulances within that 5 mile range....not an hour away. A high school friend of mine became a public health officer...a physician for the public health service...we need more people willing to do that and a government or private businesses or communities willing to pay.
